As Promised: Candidate Positions

Which one of the leading Presidential candidates thinks ethanol is a complete boondoggle? Let's put it this way - it cost him Iowa in 2000.

This article almost changes my entire prospective on John McCain. I had no idea he had been involved in so many of these different areas. While, I still am not sure if I agree with all of his policies not mentioned in this article, I feel at the very least he deserves a second look.

I agree with Ian, while this article did not necessarily convince me to vote for McCain, it did restore a little faith in the political system. Its nice to know that there are still people in Washington who will do something unpopular, something that probably will not get them votes or special interest money, just because they believe it is better for the public in the long run. - james roten

I was also in the dark about McCain's nonconformist behavior. I respect him for taking a stand for what he believes in and looking ahead to the long run of environmental and other issues. - Catherine Long

Before I make my mind up, I'll need to find out who he is planning in putting in the white house with him if he does get elected. Being president is team work and who you put in you team will say what kind of government we will have. In the case of Bush it was put together for him and I doubt that he has had much input, this has been Chaneys presidency.

I like this article too because i realy got to hear more about John Mccain. I like what someone said about not being afraid to do "unpopular" things in washington even tho it doesnt pull in votes. I feel Mccain is truly out for the good of the country.

I knew a little about McCain but after reading this article it was sort of refreshing to know that someone was not afraid to break the mold and put themselves out in the open, even though it may not gain much respect from the rest of the general population, its clear that his intentions are good and another positive is that he is looking forward into the future for the good of the environment.

i really enjoyed this article. its nice to hear someone shed light on the good environmental deeds of a candidate who isnt exactly advertised as the greenest. id rather have someone in office who would make a few wise environmental decisions than a bunch of worthless ones.

Its crazy to see John McCain in this light, it's good that he isn't caught up in the myth that ethanol will save us all, hopefully he can tell some of his political friends, and perhaps one day tell his grandchilden about the ethanol lies....oh wait-
